What can I expect from an Ibiza yoga retreat with Harmonic Escapes?

An opportunity to take a break from your daily commitments in order to recharge and rebalance. Our focus is on active retreats – there will be time to relax but expect to be challenged, too – and to leave feeling empowered and energised.

Who comes to Harmonic Escapes?

All kinds of people – friends, mums and daughters, couples, men and women. Our retreats are suitable for all levels, from complete beginners to experienced yogis and all level of fitness.

Will I be OK to come on my own?

Absolutely! Around half of our guests arrive solo, and for many, it can be the start of new and wonderful friendships.

Are children allowed?

Not little ones, but children aged 15 years or above are welcome, providing they are accompanied by a parent and are interested in participating in yoga or other activities.

Is there a massage therapist at the venue?

Yes, we have a team of therapists that come to the villa. You can choose from a list of therapies on our treatment menu (including Shiatsu, Thai massage, aromatherapy, Cranio-sacral, sports massage), which you will receive via email once you have confirmed your attendance. Book in advance or during your stay.

I have been diagnosed with depression. Is the retreat suitable for me?

This is a decision that needs to be made in consultation with your doctor, as the retreats have not been designed specifically to support people with depression or other mental health issues. We will need to be notified upon booking.

OUR SCHEDULE

When is check-in and check-out?

Check-in is 4pm on the first day, but you can leave luggage at the villa from 2pm onwards. Check-out on the last day is any time after brunch.

What happens on the first day?

  • We are ready to welcome you at 4pm on the first day of the retreat

  • We take you to your room and give you a tour of the house after you settle in

  • Welcome drink and a snack at 6pm with all the guests

  • 6:30pm welcome “Getting off the plane” yoga session

  • 8 pm first dinner al-fresco

What happens during the week?

Every day is different, but you will typically start each day with a yoga session, and finish with yoga and meditation before dinner. Activities and excursions include stand-up paddle boarding, a walk or swim at the beach, an excursion into Ibiza town or a drumming workshop, for example.

What do I bring with me?

Comfortable clothing, according to the season, as well as your bathing suit and flip-flops. We will send you a more extensive list before the retreat begins. We have yoga mats, blocks, belts and blankets available for all our guests.

Will there be time to explore Ibiza?

Of course! We encourage you to explore this amazing island. You are free to choose how to spend your time with us – and every afternoon is your time to discover Ibiza’s natural beauty, quaint villages and beaches. Please bear in mind that no activity in our programme is obligatory. This is your holiday!

Can I stay an extra night after the retreat finishes?

Yes, you can stay until 10am the following morning for an additional supplement, which includes a light breakfast. Please enquire.

ACCOMMODATION

What is the accommodation like?

Luxurious, comfortable and tranquil – ideal for making the most of your Ibiza yoga experience.

Guests taking part in an Active Yoga Retreat stay in the purpose-built Can Amonita villa, set among pine forest overlooking the San Lorenzo Valley in northern Ibiza. Inspired by Moorish architecture, the villa features spacious air-conditioned bedrooms, all ensuite, an 18-metre pool and a Bali house where you can have a bespoke massage. While nestled in woodlands, the villa is a short drive from beaches, restaurants and shops.

Guests attending the Yoga and Walking Retreat are accommodated at a charming, authentic Spanish finca (villa), located a short walk from beaches and the coastal town of Santa Eulalia. Surrounded by beautiful gardens, orchards and woodlands, the finca features a large swimming pool with its own terrace, an expansive yoga deck surrounded by pine trees, and a traditional Finnish sauna. Each air-conditioned bedroom opens to the outdoors, either to the garden, orchard or courtyard.

Can I have a private room?

Certainly! There is a single supplement – please contact us via email for further details.

Is there Wi-Fi and phone reception at the venue?

Yes, and in the bedrooms, too. However, in order to fully appreciate your mind and body retreat, we suggest keeping phone usage to a minimum. It’s a great opportunity for a digital detox.

YOGA

I’ve never done yoga before, but I’m interested. Is the retreat suitable for me?

Even if you have never set foot in a yoga studio, you will enjoy and benefit from our retreat. We focus mainly on yoga for beginners and intermediates; and our yoga instructors are experienced at teaching groups of different levels. The goal for the week is to help you find an inner peace, optimism and a greater calmness in everyday challenges, with your body and your health.

I’m not very fit and unsure I will be able to get through the whole week. Should I still come?

Our retreats cater to people at very different levels of fitness. Our instructors will assess your abilities and provide you the support you need to take part at a level that works for you.

I’m an experienced yoga practitioner and/or a yoga teacher. Will the yoga be challenging enough for me?

Yes. Our instructors give different cues to each sequence, so experienced practitioners can choose to work at a more advanced level. We have had yoga teachers as guests on past retreats.

I am in my late sixties. Is it silly to consider doing yoga for the first time at my age?

Definitely not. We have catered to guests aged 60 or above who have never done yoga before. You just need to be willing to learn.

FOOD

What type of food will be served?

In keeping with our location, we serve Mediterranean-themed plant-based cuisine (vegetarian, not vegan). Fresh ingredients are sourced in season and locally from Ibiza farms.

I’m lactose and gluten intolerant. Will I be able to eat the food?

Our chef Patricia is highly experienced at catering to people with all types of dietary requirements – please alert us to your needs when you book.

GETTING HERE

How do I get to Ibiza?

In summer, there are direct flights from/to most European cities. We recommend you check the best options on flightscanner or skyscanner.

Should I rent a car for the week?

We strongly recommend that you rent a car, as this enables you to explore Ibiza. If you would like to leave the venue, it is best to travel by car. Car hire would cost approximately €100 for a week. It is advisable to opt for full insurance cover. If you travel alone, you can share/rent with someone else. We would be happy to assist you in booking a rental car. If you plan to stay on the retreat for the whole week you can get to us easily by taxi from the airport (approx. €35 each way).

How do I get from the airport to the retreat venue?

We can arrange taxi transport for you from about €35 per person each way.

If guests arrive on the same flight, we can arrange a meetup in the airport for a shared taxi ride to the destination. The taxi rank is located directly outside the airport.

RESERVATIONS AND PRICING

How do I pay?

A non-refundable deposit of €400 is required to confirm your space. Full payment must be made six weeks before the start of the retreat. Please refer to our payment policy for further details.

Do I need travel insurance?

Yes, in order to participate in our programmes, you must have valid travel insurance or European Health Insurance.
